FULL LIST: Makerere admits over 15,000 on private sponsorship

Kampala. More than 15,000 students have been admitted to Makerere University on private scheme to study various courses, according to a list released yesterday.
The acting Deputy Registrar-in-charge of undergraduate admissions, Mr Charles Ssentogo, said the university has admitted more than 13,000 students and they are slated to start studying on August 12.

Mr Ssentogo also told Saturday Monitor that students can pick their admission letters from their respective faculties starting next week on Friday ahead of the reporting date on August 12.
Bachelor of Education, Arts, Social Sciences and Business administration has admitted more students compared to other courses.

Bachelor of Engineering has the least number of students admitted on private scheme.
Mr Ssentogo noted that each applicant is expected to present his/her Identity Card from their former schools, O-Level result slips, as well as A-Level result slips.

He also noted that students are supposed to report to campus on August 12, after which they are expected to go through an orientation for one week.
