More than 12,368 pioneer candidates under the Uganda Business and Technical Examinations Board (UBTEB) will get their academic transcripts, the Board’s Public Relations Officer, Paul Amoru, confirmed yesterday.
Mr Amoru said that this was the first time original security proof academic transcripts were being issued to the candidates since UBTEB commenced operations in 2011.
“The long awaited academic transcripts are ready to be collected by the institutions and have been printed by a reputable UK firm with multiple security features to avoid forgery.”
Last week the Principal of the Institute of Land Surveying and Management, Mr Pius Ocuwai, received academic transcripts for his students at a ceremony held at the UBTEB head offices in Ntinda.
Other departmental institutions who have been invited to collect their transcripts include the Fisheries Training Institute-Entebbe, the National Meteorological Training School-Entebbe, the Uganda Wildlife Training Institute-Kasese, the Uganda Cooperative College-Kigumba and the Uganda Cooperative College-Tororo.
The Board’s Executive Secretary, Mr John Twesigye, while handing over the first batch of the transcripts Mr Ocuwai said the board put in place sophisticated software to ensure efficiency in entering students’ records and computation of the grade points which guarantees accuracy of the final printed transcripts.
Students who sat for the November/December 2011, May/June 2013 and November/December 2013 exams will pick transcripts from their respective training institutions.
