It was joy and jubilation as Kampala Parents School best performers in Primary Leaving Examinations got cash rewards for excelling. The school proprietor Mr Sudhir Ruperelia handed over Shs1 million to each candidates who got four aggregates while those with five got Shs500,000 as pocket money.
“I cannot believe it that I have got a million shillings, praise the Lord. Part of my school fees for senior one is sorted,” Stella Ainomugisha said. She wants to join Namagunga for senior one to embark on her journey to pursue law.
The school got a total of 197 pupils pass in division one, 58 in division two while one in division three, making 79.6 percent as compared to 67 percent the previous year.
In an interview at the school on Saturday Mr Sudhir attributed the improvement to hard work and the recent restructuring of the school management.
“We got a consultant who helped us restructure management. The head teacher and the deputy have clear tasks to fulfil while all teachers are required to have degrees. Let me congratulate the candidates, school management especially teachers and parents for the support that has resulted in this success,” he said.
Mr Herbert Mukanga, social studies teacher, the best performing teacher with 40 division ones also attributed the success to strategic planning and team work.
“We knew what we wanted, planned for it and we have got it. We hope for better results next year,” he said.
