Rugunda to Namagunga students: You have nothing to stop you from shining

Prime Minister Dr Ruhakana Rugunda has urged urged the students of Mt St Mary’s College Namagunga to emulate the school’s big wigs that have excelled in society.

Presiding over the Namagunga’s 75 years of existence on Saturday, Mr Rugunda who represented the president said that the students have got a lot of role models to look up to in society, who are also the schools old girls.

“You have nothing to stop you from shining because the school set good role models to inspire you. You are capable of being like them or even more,” he said.
He also handed over Shs30m as the president’s contribution towards the construction of a new dormitory.


The function was graced by many notable figures including Betty Nambooze, the Mukono Municipality MP, Johnson Muyanja (Mukono South MP), Salaam Musumba, Mathew Bukenya (former UNEB secretary), Rosemary Seninde (The state minister for primary education) among others.

Led by their chairperson Angela Kanagabiri Bageine, the school old girls appreciated the efforts put in by their teachers in making them who they are today. She also urged the current students to work hard to keep the school name high.
