300 VIP guards passed out

Kampala

At least 300 police officers from the Very Important People Protection Unit who have been undergoing a Special Force training course have been passed out.

The officers, who were passed out at Kasenyi Army Training School in Wakiso District, will provide security to VIPs, including President Museveni, the First Family and the Vice President.

This marks the start of the first phase of a police takeover of the presidential security from the Special Forces. Daily Monitor could not establish when the officers will be deployed and under whose command.
