Monitor Publication Limited (MPL) has given out Shs20 million to over 300 lucky winners from different parts of the country in the just-concluded Match-for-Cash promotion. The nationwide promotion, which kicked off early last month, was aimed at encouraging readership and rewarding the newspaper’s loyal readers.
Speaking during the grand draw at the company’s headquarters in Namuwongo, Kampala yesterday, Mr Peter Kimanthi, the general manager, finance and operations at MPL, said the promotion is one way of giving back to readers and encouraging reading.
“Thanks to our readers for participating in the promotion which kicked off on August 2 and was concluded on August 29 we had thousands of participants and we appreciate their support,” he added.
Every week, lucky readers who matched numbers between one and 90, printed in the Daily Monitor won cash. About 20 people won cash prices of between Shs50,000 and Shs500,000 every week during the duration of the promotion.
To enter the grand draw, players needed to buy a copy of the Daily Monitor everyday, cut out the token that appears alongside the winning number of the day and send the game card with all coupons that appeared from the start of the game to MPL offices or an agent.
More than 200 lucky winners from across Uganda won cash prizes to the tune of Shs15 million in the Grand Draw, with the bulk of these winning Shs50,000 and Frank Adams of Kisaasi taking the top prize of Shs1,000,000.
