Confusion continues to characterise Lwemiyaga NRM primary elections results after a team of party investigators yesterday said earlier results announced by the party electoral chairperson, Ms Felicitus Magomu, were inflated by 11,000 votes.

Investigators, however, say incumbent MP Theodore Ssekikubo still remains the winner, although his rival, Mr Patrick Nkalubo, insists that at least 250 votes cast in his favour remain unaccounted for.

Ms Magomu declared Mr Ssekikubo as winner with 15,423 after deducting 200 votes from Mr Nkalubo’s 15,466 for alleged tampering.

The new results declared on Monday by the party’s leader of the investigations team, Mr Lawrence Mayambala, show MP Ssekikubo has 9,413 votes while Mr Nkalubo got 9,255.
