Mr Brian Ntwatwa, an independent witness in the case of alleged maligning of Pastor Robert Kayanja, of Rubaga Miracle Centre, has told court that his accusers were targeting Kayanja’s wealth.

While appearing before the presiding magistrate, Mr Patrick Wekesa, at Buganda Road Magistrate’s Court, last week, Mr Ntwatwa told court that the accused said they (purp orted victims) would be paid after Kayanja had been taken to court and sentenced and his property sold for their compensation.

Four of the alleged victims have, however, withdrawn their statements made at the police and two have since testified against the pastors and their colleague David Mukalazi.

Life abroad
Mr Ntwatwa said Mukalazi told him that Deborah Kyomuhendo, one of the accused, was processing their work permits, visa and pocket money of $20,000 to go to United States of America.

Pastors Moses Solomon Male of Arising for Christ, Martin Sempa, Michael David Kyazze, and Bob Robert Kayiira of Omega Healing Ministries are facing charges of alleged conspiracy to tarnish Pr Kayanja’s name that he sodomised believers.

They are jointly charged with believers Ms Kyomuhendo and Mr Mukalazi.
Further cross-examination continues today.
