Forum for Democratic Change leader Dr. Kizza Besigye has said some resident district commissioners who earn fat salaries have no academic credentials to serve in their respective positions.
Speaking on Tororo Rock Mambo FM, a local radion in Tororo, on Monday, Dr. Besigye said dishing out such salaries to academically unfit officials is a reflection of gross unfairness of the NRM government to deserving civil servants like teachers and health workers.
“What is an RDC? These people are supposed to be charcoal sellers because they are not even qualified to be in such positions,” he said. “Imagine an RDC is paid a salary of Shs2 million when a teacher who is qualified is earning less than Shs200,000,” he added.
But President Museveni’s press secretaries could not be reached for a comment since their phones were switched off.
He said time is now for NRM supporters to realise that they are also victims of bad leadership.
