Court in Entebbe has sent a 28-year-old suspected rapist to Kigo Prison for aggravated rape. Mr Duncan Sande, the presiding grade one magistrate, sent the suspect on remand for allegedly infecting a woman with HIV after raping her.

The suspect, a resident of Kiwafu in Entebbe and also operating a taxi at Entebbe International Airport, allegedly raped the woman from his rented room on April 16.
According to prosecution, the woman in her 30s went to meet a client in Entebbe, but ended up in the hands of the suspect.

“She had gone to pick a document for printing, but had to wait for it to be designed, which went on deep into the night,” the police file reads.
Initially, the woman wanted to sleep in a lodge because it was late but the suspect instead sped off to his own house where he allegedly raped her.
The woman then took the matter to the police that subjected the suspect to an HIV test and found him HIV positive.

The police also noted that the woman was the fifth to be alledgedly raped and infected by the suspect.
