Kampala

More than 50 people have been killed in three separate bomb blasts in the Ugandan capital – Kampala as the residents watched the 2010 World Cup final on giant screens.

Police confirmed that 13 people, more than half of them foreigners were killed at Ethiopian Village Restaurant in Kabalagala, a Kampala suburb, while Daily Monitor reporters counted about 40 bodies at Kyaddondo rugby grounds where a huge crowd was watching the Spain Vs Netherlands Word Cup final.

Another blast was reported to have gone off in Ntinda, another Kampala surburb, as more than 100 were reported admitted in hospitals and clinics in the capital including the national referral hospital - Mulago.

It's such a tragic day for Ugandans. The perpetrators must be brought to books; they must be held accountable for the death of innocent Ugandans. My utmost heart goes to the families of those who lost their loved ones. May their souls be in eternal peace. My humble prayers is that, let this tragic incident be politized ---it's time for all Ugandans regardless of political affiliations to come together at this trying moment. Peace! Shalom!

I really think the use of these photos is in the most appalling taste. I do not see the point in needlessly parading the dead like this. The editor, in using these photos, has used the dead for mere sensationalism and thus robbed these victims and their families of their diginity.

To think humans are capable of such despicable acts is bboth horrifying and deplorable. Fellow countrymen lets stand and unite to show these terrorists that we shall not be cowered by their cowardly acts of terror. God Help Us during these trying moments and my sincere sympathy to all those injured and bereaved.... Ma the souls of the deceased Rest In Eternal Peace.
