Representatives and leaders of the key political parties will this Thursday engage in a public debate to discuss the state of health care in the country.
The parties are also expected to outline their plans to improve the ailing health sector if voted into power.

A consortium of civil society organisations which has organised the debate says the dialogue is aimed at empowering Ugandans to elect leaders who will best fix the country’s health sector.

Six political parties including the NRM, Federal Alliance, Forum for Democratic Change, Uganda Peoples Congress, Democratic Party and the Peoples Progressive Party have been invited to take part in the debate.

“It is time we started voting leaders because of their stance on issues rather than on personalities,” said Ms Sandra Kiapi, the executive director of Action Group on Health, Human Rights and HIV/Aids.
