Mao speaks on Museveni’s popularity in north

The Democratic Party leader has said he is happy that President Museveni is now enjoying considerable support among the people of northern Uganda after decades of unpopularity.

Mr Nobert Mao said the current considerable support for the President in the hitherto opposition stronghold is a clear indication that the President is now doing what people expect from him. “I am happy that you are now enjoying this mammoth support from the people which I think would continue if you continue to do good things for them,” the DP President said.

Mr Mao made the remarks while addressing people, in Gulu during the President’s visit to commission a newly built district administration block. The President said the reconstruction efforts for the region has already been planned. Mr Museveni urged people to be patriotic.
