Kisekka market has been gutted by fire this morning. Hundreds of traders are believed to have lost goods worth millions of shillings and over 40 shops have been burnt to ashes.

According to Kampala Metropoliatan Police boss Andrew Sorewen, the fire could have been cause by a short circuit. However, he insists that the fire is still under investigation, and the cause is yet to be determined.

The Uganda police fire brigade together with the vendors are still struggling to put out the raging fire, but their efforts are hampered by lack of water.
