Speaker Kadaga, Kenyatta honoured in London

Speaker Kadaga (L) receives the award

Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga has received an award at the London Political Summit 2018 in recognition of the "great work" she has done as a speaker in Africa.

The two-day summit was organised by Ring for Change Foundation in collaboration with the London Metropolitan University. It was held at the British House of Parliament, Portcullis House, Grimond Room in Westminster, London last week.

The London Political Summit 2018 was themed on how to generate a political will and public will to influence change in a complex democracy.

Also honoured were Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta and Mr Raila Odinga, a leading opposition politician in Kenya as the two great sons and esteemed leaders of African politics for their historic political sportsmanship and adherence to the principle of political tolerance after  their “Peace Accord Handshake.”

The historical event was described as an act that ended ethnic antagonism and mischievous political competition, public corruption and lack of national ethos, in the history of Kenyan politics and democracy.
