14-year-old arrested over two murdered Kawala children

KAMPALA. Old Kampala Divisional Police Station is holding a 14-year-old boy in connection to the kidnap and murder of two children from Kawala Zone II, a Kampala suburb.
The suspect is said to have had a hand in the kidnap and murder of Victor Lungovu, a 4-year-old son to Doreen Atukwase and Milly Namutebi, a 7-year-old daughter to Nusura Naluyima.
Mr Charles Nsaba, Old Kampala Division Police Commander (DPC), said the suspect was arrested on Tuesday evening after the residents said he was the last person seen with the children before their disappearance on Sunday evening.

“We have a 14-year-old suspect in our cells and we are hunting for other suspects. We have good leads and we shall be on top of this matter very soon,” Mr Nsaba said on Wednesday.
According to police, the suspect on Tuesday led the residents to the crime scene, claiming he had seen bodies of his colleagues in Lubigi wetlands.
