23 year old man kills 88 year old lover over cheating

Kampala.

Police are holding a 23-year-old man for allegedly killing his 88-year-old lover.

The gruesome incident happened in Rwemigari village, Kigulya Parish, Mirya Sub-county in Masindi District last week.
While addressing journalists in Kampala yesterday, Mr Fred Enanga, the police spokesperson, identified the deceased as Olica Nyamundu, adding that the victim was found lying in a pool of blood in her house.

“Probable information showed that the latter had been accusing the former of cheating on him. We suspect that the deceased was stabbed to death by her boyfriend,” said Mr Enanga.
The suspect is waiting to be arraigned in court for mention of charges related to murder.
This is not the first case of cross-generational affair gone wrong.

Past incidents
In February 2014, a 25-year-old Rwandan national was arrested by Mbarara Police in connection with stabbing her husband to death.

The suspect, a resident of Biafra cell in Kamukuzi Division, Mbarara District, allegedly stabbed her husband, also of Rwanda origin, after she allegedly suspected him of cheating on her.
Polly Namaye, who was then Rwizi region police spokesperson, said the suspect supposedly stabbed her husband to death using a knife outside a bar in Biafra. The body of the deceased was later found in a pool of blood outside the bar.

The deceased who hailed from Byumba, Rwanda was running a charcoal business while his wife hailed from Nyakagatare and was operating a restaurant besides the husband’s business in Kajogo, Biafra.

In August 2013, Police in Mbarara arrested a 70-year-old man for allegedly killing his wife, who he accused of cheating on him.

The suspect took himself to the police after realising that he had killed his wife.
He allegedly said he did it out of anger after he caught his wife red-handed in bed with another man.
