Stampede in Court as Police officer collapses during session

There was drama and stampede at the High Court in Mbale District after a police officer collapsed during the session presided over by Justice Suzan Okalany.

The officer, attached to Counter-Terrorism unit [CT], who was manning the entrance of the courtroom, suddenly collapsed in the middle of a session.

The Judge was left gaping and gazing as people who were attending the court proceedings trampled on each other in attempt to run out of the courtroom.

The yet unidentified police officer was later on carried away by his colleagues for medical attention.
The judge who looked puzzled, adjourned the session prematurely.

“This is the first time to see this happening, and I have to adjourn this court session in order to check on my body guard,” Ms Okalany said.

According to the eyewitness, the police officer looked ill and weak.
“He looked weak. I think he was sick and that is why he collapsed. I would see him doze off and he even urinated on himself before he finally collapsed,” said a one, Isaac Muduku.
