  • Mr Lutaaya had claimed that he was given 86 million until on Wednesday morning when the RDC Ms Rose Kirabira called him in the council meeting and made him to confess in public that he actually received the money, which he did.

ENTEBBE. Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) officials on Wednesday demolished the Entebbe Deputy Town clerk’s house after forcefully evicting him.

The UNRA officials led by the Land Acquisition Officer, Mr Moses Kintu, demolished Mr Dan-Fred Lutaaya’s house accusing him of constructing it on the road reserve in Entebbe town along Kampala-Entebbe high way.

According to Mr Moses Kintu, Mr Lutaaya was given a grace period of three months to vacate the place, but failed yet he had pocketed Shs163 million in compensations.

“This land and house where Mr Lutaaya was staying belongs to Entebbe Municipal Council, but he [Lutaaya] was operating a craft business in the house and was paid Shs163 million in compensations. We also paid Shs298 million to the council because the land belonged to them," Mr Kintu said.

Mr Vincent Kayanja, the Entebbe Municipality mayor said: "As Entebbe Municipal Council, we want to clear the air of what the deputy town clerk said in the media that he was never paid. The truth is Mr Lutaaya was a sitting tenant. He acquired this land because he is a civil servant. UNRA paid him Shs163 million. He was given a grace period of three months to vacate the place which he never did until Wednesday when UNRA evicted him by force.”

Mr Lutaaya had claimed that he was given 86 million until Wednesday morning when the RDC, Ms Rose Kirabira summoned him to the council meeting where he confessed having received the money.
