Attorney General Peter Nyombi has asked high court to stay the hearing of embattled lord mayor Erais Lukwago's impeachement.

In his application, Nyombi states that it would be improper for the High Court to go ahead and hear Lukwago’s case yet he has appealed against a decision by Justice Yasin Nyanzi not to disqualify himself from hearing the same matter.

This comes after Nyombi claimed that Judge yasin Nyanzi is biased in regards to Erias Lukwago’s case and thus should disqualify him self. However, Judge Nyanzi refused to disqualify him self and instead accused the Attorney general of not knowing the law.
