Ailing Bukomansimbi MP dispels death rumours

KAMPALA: Ailing Bukomansimbi South MP Deogratius Kiyingi has dismissed rumours about his death as doom, spread by ill intended politicians.
“It is false and since I came here, doctors have been working on me and my situation is not worrying,” said Mr Kiyingi in a Whatsapp message sent to this reporter.
“Please disregard any rumours of doom about my death. I know those who are perpetuating it,” he added.

Mr Kiyingi's political strategist, Muhammad Musa Matovu Kigongo, says his boss could hardly breathe on the day he was taken to Thailand

and admitted to Phyanthai Hospital in Bangkok, Thailand.
He said the doctors established that he suffered liver enlargement and a lung infection.
Between November and early this year, the legislator had been hospitalized at Agha Khan Hospital in Nairobi but his health kept deteriorating.

“I was taken for further investigation and management after admissions at Nakasero and Nairobi,” said Mr Kiyingi.
Although he was still weak, Mr Kiyingi told this reporter that “I can now feed. My supporters should not be worried. I am getting better day-by-day and will soon return home.”
He is in the company of his wife, Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi, the State Minister for Youth and Children Affairs.
