Police have refuted claims that Amama Mbabazi’s aide Christopher Aine is dead, claiming that he instead is alive and hiding.

In a statement released to the media, Police spokesperson Mr Fred Enanga reiterated that the allegations of Aine’s death will not deter efforts by police to have him arrested and arraigned in court.

“We want to inform the public that until further information or evidence is obtained that suggests otherwise, we believe Aine Christopher is alive and in hiding. And for that matter, we are continuing to investigate his case as that of a missing person, who is also wanted by Police. Our Police notice therefore, is still valid and in we also in addition expect the Chief Magistrates Court, at Jinja, to issue a warrant of arrest of him, following his failure to appear before court yesterday, Wednesday, 6th January, 2016,” Mr Enanga said.

He also cautioned the media and the public against circulating the picture of a supposed lifeless Aine.
“We therefore, request the media to hold back from using the image, since its legitimacy is still questionable, until when it has been ascertained as a genuine photo or not,” he added.
