Bobi to supporters: I thank you for keeping the struggle alive

WAKISO. Shortly after reaching his home, Kyadondo East Member of Parliament Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine appeared on the porch to wave to constituents and supporters whom he thanked for keeping the “struggle and spirit” of seeking change in Uganda alive.

Daily Monitor’s Derrick Wandera reports that Bobi waved to an ecstatic crowd, which kept surging forward. The electorate had managed to push police out of the compound before Bobi’s address.

“I thank you my fans and supporters for being here for me and my family,” Bobi said to deafening applause. He added: “The struggle still continues and let’s keep the spirit.”

The crowd teeming on the premise thundered the MP’s slogan; People Power, Our Power! Bobi was not anchoring on a walking stick as he has done since his release from military custody three weeks ago. His wife, Berbie, stood by his side.

After the brief comment, Bobi, who landed at Entebbe International Airport early on Thursday afternoon from the United States, retreated to his house, saying he was exhausted and hungry and in need of a long rest.

His brother Eddie Yawe, whom police detained early Thursday morning as he headed to receive Bobi at Entebbe airport, appeared at the front gate of the legislator’s home in Magere, Wakiso district, shortly after the address ended.
