Ms Norah Wanyana, a senior five student of Air Force Secondary School was murdered on Friday.

The Entebbe OC CID, Asp Zachariah Mbabazi confirmed to Daily Monitor on Saturday that one suspect had so far been arrested as they intensify investigations into the latest murder of a woman in the area.

“One person called Abdulla was arrested from the scene, questioning was done and we found out he was the boda boda person who brought the victim to the point of death so inquiries are still ongoing because he is mentioning about three collaborators whose names we cannot mention for investigations purposes but there are other two that we are searching for” he said.

He refuted allegations that two other women had been killed in Kitooro on Saturday “No, today we have not received any murder reports”.

Residents of Nkumba Central Katabi town council discovered the body of Wanyana Norah on Friday morning stripped naked and dumped in a banana plantation with a stick inserted in her private parts.

The incident happened a few meters from Wanyana’s parents’ home.

Mr Eric Mpagi, the deceased’s sibling said that Ms Norah returned from school on Thursday evening and at about 7pm, she left home to buy food.

She did not return home, prompting Mr Mpagi to call her on her mobile phone although he did not get any response.

He later on informed their mother, Ms  Florence Nankya about the disappearance of his elder sister.

When she returned home from work at about 10pm, they waited on in vain only to be informed by the neighbour the following morning that Ms Wanyana had been killed.

The body of the deceased was later taken to Mulago hospital for a postmortem.

Wanyana becomes the fourth woman to be murdered in recent weeks after Aisha Fenando alias Kasowolye’s body was found in a banana plantation a week ago stripped naked and with soil poured in her private parts.
