President Yoweri Museveni has confirmed that ex-Vice President, Prof Gilbert Bukenya will have to face the NRM Central Executive Committee (CEC) for disciplinary action for campaigning for the opposition in the Luwero woman MP by-elections that saw NRM beaten.

The president who was responding to a question from journalists about what will happen to Mr Bukenya for campaigning for the opposition said Bukenya’s issue will be handled by CEC for action.

“That will be handled by the Central Executive Committee. When they handle it, you will hear the story. I do not want to speculate,” said Mr Museveni.

Mr Museveni made the remarks on Wednesday during a late night presser at his country home in Rwakitura. The presser had been organised for the President to announce to the country that he had paid over $600,000 for UBC to run all World cup matches.
