Businessman Mulwana dies

The late James Mulwana

One of Uganda’s most successful businessman and industrialist James Mulwana has died. Mulwana died Tuesday morning at Nakasero, according to members of his family.

The cause of Mulwana death, 76, is yet to be established but doctors believe he died of abdominal complications. His body is still at Case Clinic in Kampala.

At the time of his death, Mulwana was the chairman of Standard Chartered Bank Uganda Limited.

He was founder of businesses that include among others Nice House of Plastics Limited, Uganda Batteries Limited, Jesa Farm Dairy Limited, Jesa Investments Limited and Nsimbe Estates Limited.

He has been a member and founder of Uganda Manufacturers Association and served as its chairman in the late 90’s.

He is survived by a wife and three children.
