Butembe MP chased from burial over age limit law

Mr Nelson Lufafa

Jinja- Butembe Member of Parliament, Mr Nelson Lufafa has been blocked from attending a funeral by a group of residents of Buwemba village in Budondo Sub-county.

Trouble started when the master of the ceremony invited him to address mourners.

A group of rowdy residents shouted him down and demanded his departure from the burial.

They claimed that the MP betrayed them when he supported the December 20, 2017 scrapping of the age limit for presidential candidates from the Constitution.

This is the third time Mr Lufafa is being embarrassed and chased from public functions.

Before the age limit law was amended, Mr Lufafa, who was consulting his constituents on the issue, at Mafubira Primary School, was disrupted by a group of youth who accused him of supporting life presidency in Uganda.
