Buyaga county Member of Parliament Hon Barnabas Tinkasimire who was arrested over the weekend for attempting to cause mayhem at a political rival’s wedding has been released on police bond.
Mr Ben Mugisha the Kibaale District Crime Investigations Officer confirms that Mr Tinkasimire was released Sunday evening along with his aides Mr Edward Sunday, Mr Idi Kyaligonza and Mr John Twesige.
Mr Tinkasimire was arrested for disregarding traffic instructions and “choosing” to drive recklessly into the wedding of Denis Namara that was taking place in Rutete play ground (Rutete sub county Kibale). Mr Denis Namara is the National Resistance Movement youth chairperson and senior presidential advisor on youth affairs and has recently declared his intentions to unseat Mr Tinkasimire in the upcoming parliamentary polls.
Mr Tinkasimire and his colleagues are supposed to police on Tuesday next week.
