Church leader dies in boda accident

A 72-year-old Bishop of Grace Pentecostal Church Ministries died on spot when the vehicle he was travelling in knocked a boda boda motorist at Otatai Primary School, seven kilometers off Soroti Town on the old Soroti-Mbale road.

A 72-year-old Bishop of Grace Pentecostal Church Ministries died on spot when the vehicle he was travelling in knocked a boda boda motorist at Otatai Primary School, seven kilometers off Soroti Town on the old Soroti-Mbale road.
Mr Hassan Juma Nyene, the police spokesperson East Kyoga, said the accident occurred on Thursday evening claiming the life of James Peter Okello, of Grace Pentecostal Assemblies Soroti and Simon Peter Okurut 20, a boda boda rider.

He said the deceased bishop sustained a deep cut on both his skull, and mouth as well as a bruised face.
Mr Nyene added that the boda boda rider also died on spot, something that should have been prevented if the he had been wearing a helmet.
