Kampala

Kampala Capital City Authority has interdicted three primary head teachers over allegations of office abuse and misappropriation of funds.

The affected head teachers include Mr David Ssengendo of Nakasero Primary School, Mr Nathan Baka of Nateete Mackay and Ms Beatrice Turyasingura of Buganda Road Primary School. According to police documents, Mr Ssengendo was interrogated on December 12 last year on allegations of misappropriating funds for Nakasero Kindergarten. He was later released on bond.

It was upon this reference that KCCA acted on the said teachers, writing to them on January 31 to inform them that they had been interdicted.

Mr Ssengendo confirmed the reports but was not willing to share any information since the matter was under investigation.
Mr James Tweheyo, the secretary of Uganda National Teachers Union said KCCA has no authority to interdict the teachers.
