Believers at the city-based Christianity Focus Centre yesterday witnessed their Pastor David Kiganda formally introduce his Zimbabwean fiancée Cindy Karonga to the congregation.

The church was filled to capacity with others viewing the events on a projector placed in the compound. At 2pm, a vintage Limousine with a personalised number plate entered the church gate throwing the flock into excitement.

Pastor Kiganda accompanied by pastors Franklin Mondo Mugisha and Michael Kyaze, picked the bride-to-be and marched to church amid claps. “The enemy attacked my camp seven years ago wanting to bring me down using my wife to defy our bed,” Pastor Kiganda said. “I cried to God over my agony and he showed me this lovely, God fearing woman in Harare,” he said.

Ms Karonga said she has kept her body pure awaiting a God-fearing man who would take her as his wife.
“When David approached me three years back, I asked for time to investigate him and pray about his request until God answered my prayers,” she said.

News made rounds last week that pastor Kiganda, is set to re-marry. This follows the dissolution of his first 20-year old marriage that was rocked with adultery and witchcraft scandals since 2006.

The High Court dissolved the pastor’s union with Hadija Nasejje last month. The couple, that have five children together, wedded on October 27, 1991, at Victory Christian Centre, Ndeeba, Kampala.
