KAMPALA

Police have started a hunt for a vehicle that knocked a city businessman Eria Sebunnya Bugembe, popularly known as Kasiwukira on Friday morning after their on-scene investigations pointed at intentional run over.
Mr Sebunnya was knocked by a vehicle in Muyenga, Kampala suburb, as he was jogging near his home. The car sped off after the incident.
Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesman, Mr Patrick Onyango, said they first thought that it was a hit and run incident but after talking to people residing near where the incident happened, they got more information that suggest the incident was intentional.

“Neighbours told us that the car driver parked near the area for some time and it was only driven away when Sebunnya started running. The residents told police after knocking him, they sped off that is why we are now focusing on murder case,” Mr Onyango said.
Mr Onyango was silent on whether they have been able to get the particulars of the vehicle or not.
“This is part of the investigation which I can’t reveal now. It is still early to bring out where we have reached,” he said.
Mr Sebunnya is one of the first professional music producers in the country. He helped the famous Eagles’ Productions (now disbanded) to rise to fame.
He has also been producing tiles at his factory in Najjanankumbi on Entebbe Road.

Mr Sebunnya has been the deputy treasurer of the Kwagalana group (the rich men’s club in Kampala). He went to school in Old Kampala Primary School. He began his business empire by duplicating and selling music cassata tapes with a brand name KASE which the street vendors) sold around the city in the 80s.
He would also burn music from the old gram phone turn table and transfer music on tapes. He later started importing tapes from South Korea and other Eastern countries, and became the first and number one distributor of cassette tapes both empty and pre-recorded music tapes before the CDs came on the market. His investments are in commercial and residential properties in Kampala City center and its suburbs.
