High Court judge Wilson Masalu Musene on Wednesday sentenced Jaden Ashraf, a police constable and Sandra Nakungu, a sister-in-law to the late Kasiwukira to Luzira Maximum Security Prison after court found them guilty of murder.

In his ruling, the judge found Jaden and Nakungu guilty of having a common intention to murder Kasiwukira. He noted that not only was Jaden seen in the vehicle that knocked Kasiwukira dead on the fateful day, evidence before court indicated that he had attempted to eliminate the deceased on two different occasions.
The same judge found Sarah Nabikolo, Kasiwukira's widow innocent on ground that there was no incriminating evidence against her.
Unlike in other murder cases, Nakungu and Ashraf in their notice say are to appeal against the conviction but, not the sentence.

In their notice of appeal before the appellant court, the duo through their lawyer Ladislaus Rwakafuuzi, contend that their conviction, and the acquittal of Nabikolo (their co-accused) was unfair because they were charged together.
Jaden and Nakungu have informed court that, they will file in their grounds of appeal at a later stage.
