Kamuli- Irate councillors of Kamuli District stormed out of the council sitting citing misconduct by the district chairperson, Ms Salaam Musumba, whom they blamed for violating the order paper.

The council, which was being steered by the district vice speaker, Ms Betty Kalema, was adjourned immediately until next year to allow a cease fire between councillors and Ms Musumba.

Led by the district councillor for Butansi Sub-county, Mr Maxwell Mugudde and the Kisozi Sub-county councillor, Mr Charles Mpalabule blacklisted the district chairperson for following her own order paper for her own interest.

While addressing the council, Ms Musumba did not follow the distributed order paper but instead started using her own which the clerk to council did not have.

Mr Mugudde said they couldn’t proceed with the council session to serve chairperson’s interests over those of the district.

Ms Musumba scoffed at the councillors for being used by some of the civil servants to serve their interests and urged them to wait for 2016 elections. The council ended prematurely and the council business wasn’t responded to.
