Work at Mukono Magistrate’s Court came to a standstill on Friday when a man and woman engaged in a physical confrontation over children in front of the Grade II magistrate chambers.
Trouble started when magistrate Mark Opolot ruled that, Ms Fatuma Nantongo, should leave with the children.

However, the children refused to go with her, prompting the latter to attack her husband, Mr Mohammad Najib, whom she accused of turning the children against her. It took the intervention of the police and prison warders to separate the duo.

However, this did not end there. Ms Nantongo attacked Mr Najib away from the court premises but they were also separated by residents and boda boda riders. Mr Najib said after separating with Ms Nantongo, the latter got another man whom he claimed has been mistreating his two daughters.

Efforts to talk to Ms Nantongo were fruitless as her lawyer barred journalists from speaking to her.
