Dembe FM unveils new presenters

Kampala- Dembe FM, which airs on 90.4fm, and a sister radio station to 93.3 KFM, is today revamping its evening show known to its audience as Dembe Taxi.

The popular Luganda radio station is introducing two new presenter
s Sam Gombya, who is also a popular musician, and Jennifer Basemera.

Ms Basemera replaces Emperor Orlando who has been working alongside Mayende famously known as Quick Reporter.
Ms Sarah Nalule, the brand manager of Monitor Publications said the new presenters have vast experience on radio.

She said she was confident in their experience to add variety to the station and that listeners would receive them well.

“We want to give our audience what they deserve because as Dembe FM, we always go by our slogan Omuziki n’ebikuzimba (music and important information)” Mr Moses Katongole, the Dembe Fm Programmes controller, said.

Mr Gombya and Ms Basemera go on air today from 4pm to 8pm and they will be running a drive called Kavera Promotion.
In the promotion, that will be live on air, Dembe Taxi will pick listeners from the roadside back to their homes, and they will be availed with gift hampers to take home.

Mr Gombya said he would make sure his listeners on the previous radio station follow him to Dembe FM.
“It is not that I want them to stop listening to the previous radio station. I just want them to listen to me.”
