Ex MP Mutebi Kityo dies

MPIGI- Henry Mutebi Kityo, the former Mawokota South Member of Parliament has died at Nkozi Hospital.

Aged 69, Kityo has been battling diabetes for over 10 years.

According to one of his wives, Ms Violette Ssanyu Mutebi, the forme MP was treated in several hospitals in Kampala but family members advised him to return home because he was feeling better.

Ms Ssanyu said burial arrangements have started but confirmed that he would be laid to rest at his ancestral home in Nyondo village, Buwama Sub-county, Mpigi District.

Kityo represented the area in Parliament from 1996 to 2006 before losing the seat to John Bosco Lubyayi Sseguya . Before joining Parliament, he was a district councillor for Buwama Sub-county.

He was a founder member and chairperson at the Uganda National Farmers’ Association (UNFA), the proprietor of South Mawokota Village Bank and an executive board member of Uganda Microfinance Center Limited (UMSCL).
