KAMPALA

The High Court in Kampala has found guilty a group of 5 shamba boys who connived to murder their lady boss Josephine Nalwadda in July 2012 at Muyala village, Kamengo sub-county in Mpigi district.
The 5 include Kabagambe Jerevasio, Muhigo John, Kivumbi Jackson , Musisi John and a 14 yr old David Mwanje .

The group has also been convicted of aggravated robbery and theft.
Justice Jane Alividza said there was over whelming evidence adduced by the prosecution linking the 5 convicts to the said murder for which they hatched a plot to break into the deceased’s bedroom on the 18th of July,2012.
Prosecution led evidence to the effect that the other four shamba boys paid Shs620000 to Kabagambe who handed them the keys that gave them access to Nalwadda’s bedroom in absence of her husband Joseph Muhiirwa who had travelled to Kampala to do shopping for the couple’s golden jubilee celebrations.
The robbers armed with a panga, knife , axes and a harmer sliced 70 year old Nalwadda’s throat and run away with property worth Shs3 million and Shs5 million in cash.

Kabagambe was later arrested with the couples’ cloths in Rakai district and confessed to the murder. He then led to the arrest of his four accomplices.
The trial judge, Alividza adjourned the matter to August 27 when she will hand the convicts their sentences.
