Four fined for walking on KCCA grass, illegal parking

Four men were yesterday convicted for trespassing on green belts and improper parking in the city.
John Lee and Robert Seromba appeared before the City Hall Court magistrate Julius Borore and pleaded guilty to parking their vehicles on city pavements meant for pedestrians.
The magistrate sentenced them to a fine of Shs600,000 or two months in Luzira prison.
Prosecution had earlier said on March 8, the convicts were seen parking their vehicles on Kampala city pavements, an offence contrary to the traffic and road safety regulations.
The same court convicted and sentenced James Kasujja and Wilson Twasiima to a fine of Shs40,000 or 30 days in Luzira prison for vandalising city green belts.
The two pleaded guilty.
It was alleged that the two on March 12, along Jinja Road in Kampala District, walked on the grass in the demarcated green belts without consent from Kampala Capital City Authority.
