Four injured in Equator motor accident

Four people have been injured in a motor accident that happened at the Equator near Kayabwe Town along Kampala - Masaka Highway.

The accident that occurred at 9:30am this morning involved a sand truck that was being driven by a one Lukwago, a motorcycle and a trailer carrying poles.

An eyewitness, Mr Hassan Ssebunnya told Monitor Online that the trailer was branching off to refuel at Oilcom petrol station and that the sand truck hit the poles and the driver of the truck lost control.


"Both vehicles were coming from Masaka side. The over speeding bodaboda cyclist hit the truck carrying poles," he said.

The injured were taken to Nkozi Hospital to receive treatment. Traffic police has towed the vehicles and removed the poles from the road.

The trailer driver and his turn man have been detained at kayabwe police station as investigations continue.
