What you need to know:

Culture. Ms Munaaba says she hails from Kaliro, which recognises Prince Wambuzi as the Kyabazinga.

Jinja. The Minister of State for Water and Environment, Ms Flavia Munaaba, has said she does not recognise Kyabazinga William Wilberforce Kadhumbula Nadiope Gabula IV as the king of Busoga.
Presiding over the World Environment Day organised by Eskom Uganda at Kiira Power Station in Jinja District on Friday, Ms Munaaba said she recognises Prince Edward Wambuzi as the Kyabazinga of Busoga.
“Thank you so much for the activities you (Eskom) have done in Busoga and I am thanking you on behalf of the kingdom but not Kyabazinga Gabula because you all know that I come from Kaliro, which recognises Prince Wambuzi as our Kyabazinga,” she said.
In November 2011, Busoga Kingdom and Eskom Uganda launched a three-year Shs75m project for planting 30,000 different tree species, including fruits to protect and preserve the environment.
Kyabazinga Nadiope was enthroned on September 13 last year.
His former rival to the throne, Prince Edward Columbus Wambuzi, had been controversially elected Kyabazinga in October 2008, but failed to get enthroned.

Eskom hailed
Efforts: “I have been listening to speeches and everyone was appreciating the role of Eskom in planting trees in communities. It is something good which other companies should emulate,” Ms Munaaba said.
She warned environment officers against covering up their failures under the guise of being paid low salaries.
Commitment. The outgoing managing drector of Eskom, Ms Nokwanda Mangeni, said 20,000 trees had been planted and reiterated Eskom’s commitment to protecting the environment in Busoga region.
