Girl arrested over stealing 2 bulls

Budaka. A 17-year-old girl has been arrested and is currently detained at Budaka Central Police Station after allegedly stealing two bulls valued at more than Shs1.5 million.
The Bukedi region police spokesperson, Mr Sowali Kamulya, confirmed the incident saying the suspect, a resident of Kamonkoli Sub-county in Budaka District was nabbed with the stolen animals at Naboa on Mbale-Tirinyi highway at around 4am on her way to Kamonkoli.
Mr Kamulya said the owner of the two bulls, Mr Samuel Kereba, a sub-county chief for Kachomo Sub-county had reported to his neighbours about the theft of the animals at around 2.30am.

A manhunt for the thieves ensued and residents were surprised to find the suspect chasing the stolen bulls. However, upon questioning, the suspect said she had been asked by unknown people to help them steal the animals.
