Strong boy. Doctors say Keron remained strong and cheerful throughout his last days.

Kampala:
Solemn and mournful music filled All Saints Cathedral in Nakasero yesterday during a requiem mass for singer Juliana Kanyomozi’s son, Keron Raphael Kabugo.

Rev Diana Nkesiga, the Vicar of All Saints, led the service in the church that was filled to the brim.
Keron’s classmates at Aga Khan Primary School and fellow football players from Edgars Football Academy delivered wreaths and condolence messages to their colleague.

In attendance was Trade minister Amelia Kyambadde, musicians Bebe Cool, Ragga Dee, Benon Mugumbya, friends and relatives, and singer Juliana’s fans.
The funeral service kicked off at 9am with thanksgiving hymns led by singer Lillian Mbabazi and guitar maestro Myko Ouma as part of the celebrations of the short-lived life of the 11-year-old who passed on last Sunday at Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi.

Juliana, who looked brave, thanked God for keeping her strong throughout “this trying moment”. She described Keron as a “very strong boy”.
“He would read me like a book. One day I came back home so sad. Something was happening. I had a headache. He came and stood in front of me pocketing and asked; ‘You look like you have a headache, can I get you Panadol?’ That was my son, he read me like a book,” she recollects.

Dr Michael Tindikahwa, Keron’s doctor at Aga Khan Hospital, said Keron had eight cardiac arrests.
“The best doctors in Nairobi were by his side and they fought hard, he was put on life support machine so that he can be sedated, but unfortunately inspite of all the best medication provided, God just wanted Keron by his side,” said the doctor.
