Government declares tomorrow a public holiday

Ugandan government has declared Wednesday February 24 yet another public holiday to enable Ugandans to participate in Electoral process, the government has announced.
In a statement released by the office of the prime minister, government gives reason for public holiday as opportunity for citizens to elect their local government leaders.

"The Rt Hon 1st Deputy prime Minister and the Minister of public Service inform the general public that Wednesday 24th February 2016 will be observed as Public Holiday throughout the country to enable Ugandans to participate in the election of Local Government leaders," reads the statement issued by Catherine Bitarakwate Musingwiire the PS public service ministry.
Notably, tomorrow will see Ugandans vote for the highly billed mayoral positions and councilors.
