Court has ordered the government to reinstate the Mubende former Chief Administrative Officer, saying his termination and retirement was unlawful.
The court held that Mr Isaac Mudoi’s right to be employed until retirement was unceremoniously discontinued by the Attorney General and the Mubende Local Government.
High Court in Kampala also ordered the Attorney General (AG) and Mubende District local government to pay Mr Mudoi Shs193 million within 60 days as compensation for the unlawful act.
Justice Joseph Murangira ordered that failure to reinstate Mr Mudoi to his job that he lost in 2005, government will pay him an extra Shs180 million within 60 days.
Mr Mudoi’s contract was terminated by the Mubende district local government on the advice of the office of the Attorney General, citing ‘retirement in public interest’ from his position.
According to the court, Mr Mudoi was unlawfully dismissed from his job and this has a direct consequence on his pension, which he is entitled to.
