Kamya represents Museveni at funeral of Masaka Road accident victims
The remains of 13 Tanzanians who perished in a grisly road accident on Masaka Road being carried to Lugalo Hospital Dar es Salaam
Dar es Salaam- Minister of State in the President's Office (Public Service Management and Good Governance) Ms Angela Kairuki led hundreds of mourners, who attended a service in memory of 13 Tanzanians who perished in a road accident on Masaka Road in Uganda on Sunday.
The service, which was held at Lugalo Hospital on Wednesday, was attended by a number of government officials and representatives of Ugandan government including Ugandan Ambassador to Tanzania.
Addressing the mourners, Ms Kairuki thanked the Ugandan government for footing the cost of transporting the bodies to Tanzania as well the treatment of six Tanzanians who survived the accident.
"We thank the Ugandan government under President Yoweri Museveni for the support that they have shown in this difficult time," she said.
She also consoled former deputy minister for finance Mr Gregory Teu and his family after he lost 12 relatives in the grisly accident.
Ms Betty Kamya Minister for Kampala, who represented Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni, said the Ugandan government is investigating the cause of the accident.
The 13 bodies will be transported to Mpwapwa-Dodoma and Moshi-Kilimanjaro for burial.
