Former Internal Security Organisation head of discipline, Lieutenant Bahati Mohammad Kabahena, has joined the opposition party-Forum for Democratic Change.
Mr Bahati made Public his decision at a rally in Kabale town, conducted by Forum for Democratic Change. Mr Bahati also told hundreds of FDC supporters that he has been instrumental in doctoring presidential election results in favour of President Museveni.
Mr Bahati who has for years been instrumental in mobilizing support for the ruling National Resistance Movement party and President Museveni in particular reiterated that he has been helping the president and the NRM to steal votes and he is willing to support his statement in court.
"We have stolen votes for you President Museveni, too much and we are tired of doing it" Mr Bahati said.
I want Museveni to come out and say, Bahati you have not stolen for me and i will go to any court and testify that i have been stealing for you" he added.
However government’s media centre boss, Mr Ofwono Opondo said Mr Bahati should be apprehended because his confession is liable to criminal prosecution.
“He should be arrested because that is a criminal offence. What he alleges is a common story, especially by people who are disgruntled by the NRM government,” said Mr Opndo adding, let him now steal for FDC since he has crossed over to the opposition.”
