IGG summons 200 police officers over forged documents

The Inspector General of Government, Irene Mulyagonja, has reportedly summoned 200 police officers at the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASPs) over forged documents.
According to a source at Naguru Police headquarters, the IGG summoned officers of the 2015/2016 and 2014/2015 intakes for allegedly forging documents they used to enrol into the police force.

"Most of them forged Primary Leaving Examination and Uganda Certificate of Education academic papers. Others used documents of their deceased relatives. We have received the letter at our human resource department," the source said.
Police spokesman, Mr Emilian Kayima confirmed the development and referred this reporter to the IGG for details.

“Yes, that investigation is there and IGG has powers to investigate any government department. Details can be given by the arm carrying out the investigation,” he said.
