KAMPALA- The Judiciary yesterday transferred 34 officers to various work stations across the country .

This comes at the back drop of recent Judicial Service Commission promotions of 30 officers to the ranks of deputy registrar, assistant registrar, chief magistrate and Grade One magistrates.
A statement released yesterday and signed by the Judiciary Public Relations Officer Mr Erias Kisawuzi, said the deployments take immediate effect.

The promotions of the judicial officers were effected by the JSC in accordance with Article 148 of the Constitution that mandates the Commission to appoint, confirm and exercise disciplinary proceedings against any judicial officer.

This was after they had passed promotional interviews held in December last year.

Some of the notable transfers include; Deo Nizeyimana from Jinja to Court of Appeal, act as deputy registrar, Tadeo Asiimwe moves from the High Court, Civil Division to the Inspectorate, Tom Chemutai moves from the High Court, Criminal Division to the training department.

Other transfers include; Vincent Emmy Mugabo who moves from Mengo to the Commercial Court/Mediation, Susan Abinyo moves from Mwanga II to Kibiga Court while Samuel Emokor moves from the Supreme Court to Fort portal.

Early this week the Commission said the promotion of the officers sought to enhance service delivery in the Judiciary.
