Rwandan President Paul Kagame on Thursday swore in the new Prime Minister Anasatse Murekezi, Cabinet Ministers and Permanent Secretaries. Mr Murekezi, who until his appointment to the new post was Minister for Public Service, replaces Mr Pierre Habumuremyi.
In his remarks, President Kagame commended the outgoing Prime Minister and Government for having achieved so much and wished those who are not part of the new Government success in their next endeavours.

“These changes don’t necessarily imply that there were weaknesses. The aim is continuity and improvement on progress registered as we forge ahead towards achieving our national goals for the benefit of all Rwandans. The new Government should aim at building on the successes achieved to date through coordination, supporting and working with each other, targeting to do even better.”

Mr Murekezi thanked President Kagame for entrusting him with the opportunity to continue serving his country and Rwandans.
“I pledge to continue upholding the dignity of all Rwandans and advancing the vision of the country. I will serve with commitment, dedication, hard work and continuing on the path to self-reliance.” he said.
